Yesterday I was at the gym. A neighbor of mine was talking to me about some troubles he was going through. I decided to listen and not talk. What I found is listening to him was the care that he was looking for at the moment.

Saying Thank You With The Burdens We Carry

Sometimes faith becomes very real during simple conversations. That happened to me recently at church. A group of us were talking about Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, the four Gospels. We were sharing thoughts about Jesus, the disciples, and the difficult moments they experienced. During the conversation, one woman shared something that stayed with me. She said that when something hard appears in front of her, she makes it a practice to say “Thank you.” She was not saying thank you because the situation was easy. She was saying thank you because the burden was placed in front of her, and she chose to accept it.

I have to admit, that idea made me uncomfortable. I began asking myself a difficult question. How do you say thank you when something truly hurts? How do you say thank you when the burden feels heavy and unfair? Many caregivers feel this same tension.…

Everyone Has a Flow of Care

You don’t have to earn the right to call yourself a caregiver.

Many people don’t see themselves as caregivers — but they are. Care shows up in everyday moments:

  • Checking on a friend

  • Showing patience

  • Helping someone feel seen

  • Supporting family, coworkers, neighbors, or strangers

Flow of Care

Flow of Care is the natural way you care.

Flow of Care is the unique, natural way each person shows their support, and care for others. It’s not about being perfect. It’s not about doing more. It’s about recognizing how care already flows through you.

You don’t need a title to be a caregiver. If you encourage, listen, protect, serve, teach, support, or uplift — care is already moving through you.

When do I care in a way that feels natural, not forced?
