Dig Deeper

Sometimes a simple question can open the door to healing. “How are you?” is easy to answer quickly. “How are you really doing?” invites honesty, trust, and care. This reflection is about creating safe space for others, while also allowing ourselves to be honest about what we are carrying.

  1. When someone asks how you are doing, do you usually answer honestly or quickly?

  2. What makes it hard for you to tell someone how you are really doing?

  3. Who in your life feels safe enough for you to be honest with?

  4. When was the last time someone truly listened to you?

  5. How can you become a safer listener for someone else?

  6. What are you carrying right now that you may need to name out loud?

  7. How can honesty become part of your self-care?

  8. What would it feel like to answer the question, “How are you really doing?” without pretending?

  9. How can Mighty Caregivers help create a space where people feel seen, heard, and encouraged?

Closing Prayer:

God, thank You for seeing what we carry, even when we do not say it out loud. Help us become people who listen with patience, kindness, and love. Give us courage to be honest about how we are really doing, and guide us toward safe people who will encourage us and build us up. Amen.
